SturdyBoard™ easy construction!!
Could not believe how easy it is to work with SturdyBoard™. After a few evenings of cutting and folding, here is what I came up with. Note that this is my first foam board scratch build, nothing fancy in it, just two balsa ribs and balsa spars, and the guts from my trusty GWS Me-109 (which has stock EPS-300C with 8c AAA 720ma.)
I was wowed on the first flight. No trimming. Yes, I know. Whenever I read it in magazine, I had the “yea, right” feeling. But this little parkflyer really amazed me. Straight and capable, yet docile to the point that I “wrung” it out on New Year’s Day, the first day out. No trimming for the total of six flights, with loops, Cuban 8, split-S, stall-turns, square-loops, etc. Slow or fast, inverted or not. All I did that day was to increase exponentials from -50% to -75% on aileron. Even the cg is dead-on. Great flyer! And now I can fly all the aerobatics at my favorite site (read, rather confined).
What a day!!

If you are interested in a little bit of aerodynamic discussion and see why the PinkStar has such a “plain” (but ingenious!) wing platform, please these two posts, Tip Stall and Wing design.
Also, see this discussion (especially the diagrams in post # 7 and post # 8, and the explanation in post # 14) to see why PinkStar stands out from other aerobatic parkflyers!
